Anonymous swap or exchange account, an honest comparison

Both have their place. Where an instant swap is the better tool, and where a regular exchange wins.

Anonymous swap or exchange account, an honest comparison

We run a swap service, so it would be easy to claim swaps always win. They do not. Here is an honest view.

Where an exchange wins

  • Bank money. Buying crypto with euros or dollars, or cashing out to a bank, is what exchanges are for.
  • Active trading. Limit orders, charts and many trades a day need an order book.
  • Very large liquid trades can be cheaper on a big exchange order book.

Where a swap wins

  • No account. Nothing to sign up for, no documents for a normal swap, no password to lose, no profile with your name on it.
  • No custody. Coins go from your wallet to your wallet. Nothing sits on a platform that could freeze, get hacked or go under.
  • Coins exchanges dropped. Monero is delisted on many large exchanges but easy to get with a swap.
  • Speed and simplicity. One step instead of deposit, trade and withdraw.

The honest middle

Swaps are screened too, and a flagged deposit can be held. The difference is that a normal swap needs nothing from you beyond two addresses. Many people use both: an exchange to come in from the bank, then a swap to move into the coin and wallet they actually want. Start on the swap page or read how it works.

Quick answers

Is an instant swap more expensive than an exchange?

Often a little, because margin and network fees are priced into one rate. In return you skip deposit, trade and withdrawal, and your coins never sit on a platform.

Can I swap bank money on SwapAnonymously?

No. SwapAnonymously is crypto to crypto only. To go from bank money to crypto you need an exchange or another on ramp.
